Applying a profit center to an incomplete claim

With profit centers enabled, incomplete claims will automatically get assigned a profit center during NEMSIS import, Dispatch import, or manual claim creation. The system uses the origin address (latitude and longitude) of the import file to map the location to an area within the boundaries of a profit center.

  • NEMSIS import: The profit center name will display on the Imported Claims page when eScene.11 is present in the NEMSIS file.

  • Dispatch import: The lat/long of the pick up location in the Dispatch import will be mapped to an area within the boundary of a profit center. The profit center name will then display in the Profit Center column on the Imported Claims page.

  • Manual claim creation: If you manually enter or change the incomplete claim's pick up address, the USPS locator will be used to obtain the lat/long coordinates and then assign a profit center that falls within its boundaries. Because it is important that we keep a record of the profit center that was designated in the import file, the profit center on the Imported Claim page will not be impacted if the address is changed after the claim was imported.

The profit center displays on the Charges tab.
